Yes this is showing on my end as well.
It was NOT there before.
Now it shows two extra URLs that are NOT needed.
One is: /sitemap-files/xml/index/index/1/
And the other one is: /sitemap-files/xml/latest/archive/1/
See this screenshot: https://prnt.sc/wRfwO9vMCw74
thanks for the feedback.
I will investigate this and aim to fix in the version I am working on.Thanks,
Here is another screenshot
This is from another website where I have robots set to “No-Index” and “No-Follow”
Plus I went inside each item (portfolios & tab sliders) and set the Sitemap Inclusion to “Exclude” inside each one.
But now the Archive Link inside the XML Sitemap is pulling those links and showing them.
This can mess the Google Cache pages and then affect some SEO things.
Thanks for your reply.
There was a problem with the archive provider which I think I have now fixed.
I have published a 2.0.4 tag, but not yet made this the stable version as I’ve had to make quite a lot of changes to this version which still need testing (so it might be broken in other places).
If you are able to try this version in a safe test / dev environment to confirm it is now working as expected it would be appreciated.
Where is this published? So I can download and test? Thanks,
If you go to this page, and scroll down, you will see previous version. You can select the 2.0.4 tag https://wordpress.org/plugins/www-xml-sitemap-generator-org/advanced/
Note this is not final. There are some further changes I need to make.
I’ve just committed some more updates to 2.0.4.
There were quite a few problems with the previous version.
If you are able to help with testing any help is much appreciated.Let me this now…I could not before because I was busy and had NOT testing environment

Ok, I just installed and enable sitemap.
It was enabled only for Home, Pages, and Posts.
See this: https://prnt.sc/hAPTvqHZ8Etm
But if you notice on the screenshots below, archives are still showing.
See this: https://prnt.sc/lnZaCYDpxlv7
And this: https://prnt.sc/EtMDl-VzFq2w
Ignore this. it didn’t commit.

Okay, figured out there was another issue. It was pulling in the “latest” provider to the XML sitemap and there is no setting for that. It is only really intended for the RSS feed. I have added a filter to exclude this. The latest and old archive can be controlled from the settings and this appears to be working now.
so should I download again the development version 2.0.4 and reinstall it to test if it works? Or how do I go about that? For checking on my side?
If you have time and a suitable place to test it (that isn’t your production website) that would be helpful.

scroll down to previous versions and select 2.0.4. It’s a more manual process than with the stable version.
I believe I have now resolved this issue in 2.0.4 which I just pushed. Please let me know of any further issues.
