# Remove Visual Editor on comments

 * I have tried everything, but I cannot get rid of the visual editor on comments.
   I just want a plain text box.
 * I suspect it may be an old plugin that has not uninstalled correctly.
 * I have tried different themes and they all have the visual editor.
 * At a loss 🙁

 * Moved to Fixing WordPress, this is not an Everything else WordPress topic.
 * Which plugin? Can you please try some temporary troubleshooting steps?
    - Switch to the Twenty Seventeen theme
    - Deactivate all the plugins, no exceptions
    - Clear your browser’s cache and cookies
 * And re-visit your site. Does the problem still exist when you do that?

 * Hi, thanks. Should have tried disabling all plugins. It was a plugin – Crayon.
   Changed settings and all solved.
