# Remove “UPDATED” Under Title?

 * Is there a way to remove the text that says “updated on:” which you find located
   next to the publish date?
 * Here’s an example: [http://www.gameralert.co.uk/hitman-gets-free-add-association-world-cancer-research-fund/](http://www.gameralert.co.uk/hitman-gets-free-add-association-world-cancer-research-fund/)
 * As you can see it says “Published 6th December 2016 · Updated 6th December 2016”

 * You have to edit your functions file of theme to remove updated date option from
   your post.

 * Hi,
 * Please go to Appearance -> Customize -> Global settings -> Performances and SEO
   
   Find the setting -> Use Structured Data Markup for your posts Uncheck the setting
   and Save Changes.
 * Doing so will remove your updated date, which is part of your structured data
   required by search engine crawler. This can affect your search engine ranking.
