    The best way to solve this is to change your theme for a non-spammy one – either from the theme repository or other reputable source.

    This link is a bit old, but it is still relevant and explains why you should not download themes from shady sites:

    There are plenty of great themes available at and all are checked by the theme review team before they are added.

    It is possible (but I haven’t checked) that the code that includes the footer links is encrypted and some themes with encrypted junk also introduce a backdoor into the site.

    I just want to thank you once again, i searched wordpress and i found a very simple but unique theme for my website, and it has no thousand unwanted links on the footer. You can take a look at it here [ link removed ] i hope to customize it to suit my desire.
