Remove "Uncategorized" from Header in Atahualpa theme

  • Help!I have spent all morning trying to remove “Uncategorized” from the Category Menu Bar of the Atahualpa theme at my blog: authorassist.com/wordpress.

    I have tried entering the “1” in the exclude box–but that does not work.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Many thanks,

    Trish

  • I would not remove it, but rename it instead.

    enter 0. This category id is 0 not 1. try once.

    or

    Shift all post from “Uncategorized” to any other category.

    oh pbenesh, You’ve spent all the morning trying to remove “Uncategorized” from the header of your wordpress, cool it pbenesh, the process is very easy, I’ve just done it a while ago, follow the following steps:

    1-Log in into your wordpress admin area >>go yo appearance >> editor.
    2-From editor select Header (header.php)
    3-before editing it, save a copy of it in your pc, select it all and chose copy, then paste it in new text file to use it in case you need it or if you make wrong changes.
    3-search for this code from the header.php you already opened, once you found it just select it and delete it….code below:
    —————————————-
    <ul id=”linkspan”>
    <?php wp_list_categories(‘orderby=name&show_count=0&feed=&title_li=’); ?>

    ——————————————-

    4- Save changes, go to your blog and press ctl+f5 to fresh your site and you are OK.
