[Resolved] Remove the "W" and all its links & menus along

  • i have Wp 3.3.2, from my admin Dashboard on the top left corner side (located under http://mydomain.com/wp-admin/index.php), there is this Icon “W” when mouse over will display 5 different links:
    – About wordpress, WordPress.org, documentation, support forums, feedback).

how can i remove/rename or disable these linsk with their menus?
i don’t want my customer to see these menus neither the links.

  • i don’t want my customer to see these menus neither the links

    May I ask why?

cuz they keep clicking on these links & each menu takes them away from the site to other pages & they get lost & confused.

If neither the customer or myself need these links, we should be able to have the ability to remove them.

    Hi Lionheart,

As promised in the other thread, here is how to accomplish what you desire. Just follow these simple steps:

    1. Paste this code at the bottom of your theme’s functions.php file.

    2. In your theme’s folder, create a file called admin_styles.css, open it, and paste this code inside.

    3. Upload the modified functions.php and new admin_styles.css to your site.

    Presto, you are done!

Isn’t that bar only viewable to those logged into the Dashboard?

@anadermann: Yes it is, but I assumed LionHeart allows his registered side users some backend functionality, in which case they would need to be able to log in.
The walk-through I posted above makes the WordPress menu item disappear.

    Marventus you are a genius.
this is exactly what i needed
i made all my users Author so they can access the Dashboard & post New items & Medias, but now they cannot see the W with its links.

    Excellent support.
Thumbs up thanks a million bro.
i wish i could return this favor.

    Glad it worked as expected.
You can customize your backend look further if you wish by targetting other elements through CSS, in case you need to.
    Good luck!

I would like to give thanks to Marventus! It works for me as well.

    Hi Joseph,

    You are very welcome!
It is always good to know proposed solutions worked for other users as well.
    Cheers!
