• Recently I got an email from yahoo small business that I need to Upgrade my WordPress version 3.9.2 I always do my upgrades and I never had to remove anything before, except backup my database and deactivate my plugins. But this time they suggested to take the following actions to further enhance security.
    1. Remove the plugins wp-cache, wp-db-backup, which have known security vulnerabilities.
    2. Install w3-total-cache and all-in-one-wp-security-and firewall plugins to provide enhanced security for your WordPress site. I don’t know what happened, but soon I deleted wp-cache(under plugins)my website is down. I have an HTTP500 Internal Server Error.
This is what it look like:
The website cannot display the page
    HTTP 500

    Most likely causes:
    •The website is under maintenance.
•The website has a programming error.
Is any one PLEASE can help me out!!! What can I do to fix the problem.
    My website is: http://www.mariasaxon.com
    Thank you advance!!!
    Maria

  • Just deleting won’t work. You need to uninstall it then remove it.

Try putting it back in the folder and then uninstall it. Or if you are familiar with your htaccess file delete all the info about wp-cache, wp-db-backup. Not sure the backup plugin writes to the htaccess but the cache most likely does.

Thank you kmessinger for the fast respond. I’m not sure what you talking about, but right now I cant even login to my account. I usually go to http://mariasaxon.com/blog/wp-login.php ,tnen ask me for my username, password, but I see the same. HTTP 500 error

You would do all I recommended either by ftp or the file manager provided by your host.

Thank you for pointing it out for me! My host is Yahoo and I found the “File Manager” This is all mambo-jumbo for me. I never used this to editing my website. I have no clue how to put it back. Also I don’t know what is htaccess file.
I’m so sorry!!:( I know you trying to help me and I really appreciated from the bottom of my heart, but I’m not a PRO like you. Can you tell me how to put it back?
