Remove target=”_blank” from External Permalinks option

We’re using your plugin to allow some of our external resources to be linked from a custom CPT on our site. However, due to accessibility and usability concerns, we would prefer that all links be opened in the same window/tab. Right now, we’re using a jQuery function to strip it out but this isn’t ideal either.

We’d love to request that the default behavior for your “External Permalink” be set to be the same window/tab, and then let the website admins toggle on the “Open All External Links in New Tab” if they would prefer. The comparable plugin Page Links To does something like this and it feels like an oversight on ASE’s part to force users into one behavior.
