remove specific admin tab

  • Hi. I have instaled the security plugin WP-Security by WebsiteDefender.
    it created a new menu option in the wordpress admin menu. I want to remove this menu tab from non-admin users. How can i do this with UserRoleEditor?

    URE plugin can’t help you in this case.
    WebsiteDefender made strange decision to permit manage his plugin for users with ‘edit_pages’ capability instead of one which administrator only has. So contact that plugin author to change that or edit WP-Security plugin code yourself.
    Open websitedefender-wordpress-security/php/acx-functions.php file, go to line #32 and change ‘edit_pages’ to ‘edit_users’ to get the following code

    add_menu_page( __('WSD Security Dashboard'), __('WSD Security'), 'edit_users', ACX_PREFIX, '_pageDashboard', ACX_PLUGIN_PATH.'res/images/wsd-logo-small-list.png');
                add_submenu_page(ACX_PREFIX, __('Scan Reports'), __('Scan Reports'), 'edit_users', ACX_PREFIX.'reports', '_pageReports');
                add_submenu_page(ACX_PREFIX, __('Database'), __('Database'), 'edit_users', ACX_PREFIX.'database', '_pageDatabase');
                add_submenu_page(ACX_PREFIX, __('Password Strength Tool'), __('Password'), 'edit_users', ACX_PREFIX.'pwd_tool', '_pagePwTools');
                add_submenu_page(ACX_PREFIX, __('About WSD'), __('About WSD'), 'edit_users', ACX_PREFIX.'about', '_pageAbout');

    Thanks, Vladimir! This helped us with another plugin, Widget Entries, too. You rock!
