    Hi.
In my website I have url permalink with .html extension.
When I add the widget of recent comments, the link is:

    example.com/post.html/#comment-150/

Which is the file for remove the slash after .html ?
    I should have example.com/post.html#comment-150

    Thanks.

I don’t see that slash in comments of my website.

That suggests me it’s not the default behavior of the WP core.

    Instead, it’s a site-specific issue.

    Have you tried:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
resetting the plugins folder by FTP. Also remember to deactivate any plugins in the mu-plugins folder (if you have created such folder). The easiest way is to rename that folder to mu-plugins-old.
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Thanks Tara,
I will try soon to do in this way.

I deactivated and then reactivated the plugins I use, but did not change.
I resolved with a query in child theme’s footer for recent comments, and it works correctly.
However I wonder why if I add recent comments by widget, it adds a slash after url (example.com/post/#comment-9.html/), even if the slash is removed from wp, redirected to the correct url without slash.
Probably is a problem inside child theme, I will search.

Glad you got it sorted 🙂

As I mentioned in my previous reply, I don’t see that slash in comments on my WP website.

That suggests me it’s not the default behavior of the WP core.

Therefore, you may want to ask directly to the author/developer/designer/vendor of your current theme.

Yes, I’m sure is a specific problem of my widget, is not a wp error.
    I use twenty fifteen’s child-theme.
