I am trying to remove the sidebar on the left in the twenty seventeen template and have tried a lot of things and nothing has worked. Can someone please provide detailed steps?

just with CSS, to start with, try this in ‘Additional CSS’:
```
#page:before { display: none; }
#secondary { display: none; }
.site-content { margin-left: 0px; }
.hentry, .site-content .hentry > *, .comments-area, .site-content nav  { max-width: 100%; }
.featured-content { padding-left: 0px; }
```
might need some refinements…
