Remove kubrick style in header

  • Hi, how can I remove the unwanted style in the kubrick header file ?

    I have this:

    <style type="text/css" media="screen">

    <?php
    // Checks to see whether it needs a sidebar or not
    if ( !empty($withcomments) && !is_single() ) {
    ?>
    	#page { background: url("<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_directory'); ?>/imeages/kubrickbg-<?php bloginfo('text_direction'); ?>.jpg") repeat-y top; border: none; }
    <?php } else { // No sidebar ?>
    	#page { background: url("<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_directory'); ?>/imeages/kubrickbgwide.jpg") repeat-y top; border: none; }
    <?php } ?>

    </style>

    <?php if ( is_singular() ) wp_enqueue_script( 'comment-reply' ); ?>

    <?php wp_head(); ?>

    How its supposed to be without the style ?

    Just delete the whole thing ? Is that php behore the wp_head needed ?

    Thanks.

  • You need to provide a link to your site and better explain what you want to do. The header in kubrick is a graphic, so if it’s a color issue that must be stated.

    Well its just a default theme modified, and I want to remove that style, nothing else.

    I completely modified the theme and as you can see in the code above use “imeages” instead of images, I added an ” e”so it wont load.

    So the answer is how can I get rid of that code (style) kubrick add to the page, without affecting needed code. (the php comments stuff there) in case is needed.

    Thanks.

    Working with the kubrick header is not that difficult, but you may get more help if you will provide a link to your site and clearly state how you want it to look…as was already suggested. That way we can see how it currently looks and may be able to help you make the changes you want.

    Hmm, the code isnt enogh to see the problem ?

    Just remove the style of the image background I dont want nor use, its just that, but ok, I will link an example to show the same.

    Here is an example of the exact same code I post above, which I dont want. But kubrick has it as default in header.

    If you view the source code of the webpage, you will see that style is applied to kubrick in the header and as I said, I added a letter to the address so the image wont load.

    The site is looking for that image and style tho, which I want to get rid off.

    So the question is, how can I get rid of that style, without deleting something needed for the theme.

    Thanks

    Okay, now I see what you are talking about…this is why links are good, because when I click that link I don’t see a Kubrick header…I don’t see anything resembling Kubrick. I see a site with a theme called “maclatino”. If that is a customized Kubrick theme, then you’ve done a dang good job.

    But, I think I see what you are talking about. Open style.css in your theme and close to the top find:

    body {
    background:#D6D6D6 url(images/kubrickbgcolor.jpg) repeat scroll 0 0;
    color:#333333;
    font-family:'Lucida Grande',Verdana,Arial,Sans-Serif;
    font-size:62.5%;
    text-align:center;
    }

    Delete the entire background line. It’s not doing anything anyway since it’s being overwritten later in that same file by this:

    body {
    background:#D6D6D6 url(images/body-bg.jpg) repeat-x scroll left top;
    margin:0;
    padding:0;
    }

    Thanks figaro, but actually what I want to remove is the style in the header.php file, not the one in the style.css.

    Its the one I posted above and want to delete it so the needed things stay there.

    As you can see and said, my kubrick theme its completely modified, but there is some stuff hanging there (like the mentioned one in header in this thread) that I want to completely remove as its not needed anymore.

    Thanks.

    may be too late for you – but I ran into this issue with a theme my wife downloaded.

    Check your Functions.php file. More than likely there’s a lot of Kubrick header settings and misc settings you don’t need.
