 * Hi
 * I noticed that some blogs have ‘.html’ at the end of every permalink ie
    **domain.
   com/article-name.html** rather than **domain.com/article-name/** which is much
   cleaner How do I make sure the ‘.html’ extension is not displayed or required?
   Is this automatic for all WordPress blogs?
 * Many thanks
 * Rob

 * The .html will only appear if custom permalinks have been specifically set up
   to show it. Normal WordPress behaviour is for the cleaner version.

 * Actually, there are many people running a database website who’d love to have
   the .html extension, because search engines find .html addresses more important!

 * I found this in the WordPress online docs…
 * There’s an easy way to having your posts end in a .html extension, using the
   structure tags above. Following the example used on properly terminating permalinks,
   you could have a page like [http://yoursite.com/2006/01/01/happy-newyear.html](http://yoursite.com/2006/01/01/happy-newyear.html)
   with this rule:
 *  /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%.html
 * Now it only provides limited, if any SEO benefits
 * Cheers

 * 3.Add a .htm OR .html OR .php at the end of the post detail page. For Eg:
 * [http://trends.move.com/hot-properties-homes-for-sale-in-up-and-coming-neighborhoods](http://trends.move.com/hot-properties-homes-for-sale-in-up-and-coming-neighborhoods)

   should be
 * [http://trends.move.com/hot-properties-homes-for-sale-in-up-and-coming-neighborhoods.html](http://trends.move.com/hot-properties-homes-for-sale-in-up-and-coming-neighborhoods.html)
