Remove homepage title and subtitle content

    I have deleted the homepage title and subtitle but now they are displaying:

    Hello, World!
    Your H2 subheadline here

    I have added the following code to try to remove the title and subtitle completely and just keep the text below:

    .featured-title, .featured-subtitle, {
   display: none;

    but the h1 and h2 titles are still showing the default theme titles.

    How can I remove these completely?
