Remove Google fonts from theme

I’m not 100% certain of the repercussions of removing the google fonts, but you can certainly do so by emptying the fonts array inside of the customizer class.

The following little function should empty that array so that no Google font’s are enqueued by the theme.

add_filter( 'primer_font_types', '__return_empty_array' );

Adding that to your child themes functions.php file should do the trick. Let us know if that helps out.
