If you want to remove all 2012 data and you don’t have any predictions for the 2014 world cup yet, then you can just use the import & overwrite function for the matches. That will remove all data from the database.
If you already have some users doing predictions for the 2014 tournament, then you will have to manually remove the 2012 matches one by one from the admin.
About the images: without more information there is no way I can tell what is going wrong. Have you looked at the images (right mouse click » properties or inspect element)? Does the information correspond with the files on your server?

i manually removed the finished fixtures.
Now in the images folder for flags i have only a text file that has the following content
You can add flags for the teams with the media uploader in WordPress, or place them in this folder.
Help me with the names for the flags images files, just one and the rest of them will be done by me.
