    If you use a browser inspector like the ones built into Chrome and Firefox, you’ll see these two bits of CSS:

    .header-image img,
    .entry-content img,
    .comment-content img,
    .widget img,
    .entry-thumbnail img {
        opacity: 0.9;
    }
    .widget-area {
        opacity: 0.6;
    }

    If you change the opacity to 1 on those styles that will remove the faded effect on the header, widgets, and images in posts, pages, and comments:

    .header-image img,
    .entry-content img,
    .comment-content img,
    .widget img,
    .entry-thumbnail img {
        opacity: 1;
    }
    .widget-area {
        opacity: 1;
    }

    To add this CSS, don’t edit the theme files directly, otherwise your changes will be overwritten when the theme is updated.

    An easy way to add custom CSS is to install the Jetpack plugin and activate the Custom CSS module. You’ll then add your custom CSS in the new stylesheet editor that’ll appear in your dashboard, under Appearance > Edit CSS.

    As alternatives, you could either install a standalone custom CSS plugin, or create a child theme.

    Excellent! That did the job.

    I installed the Jetpack plugin and added the code to the CSS editor as suggested.

    Thank you very much for your fast and useful answer.

    🙂
