Hi @dragondon,
Thanks for posting on the forum.
If you are using the lite version of Chat plugin then the emoticons are enabled by default which you can only disable by using the following pro version of chat plugin.

Please advise if you have more questions.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the reply. Please note, that there are NO emoticons, ONLY text showing on my install. I might upgrade but it seems there is a problem with the icons themselves not showing it seems.
What is odd is when I look at the greyed out emoticons option, it does show ‘disabled’ by default.
Hi @dragondon,
Thank you for your reply.

I have tested it on my test site and found the emoticons are working fine without any issue.
You can just try on your development site deactivating all other plugins and using default WordPress theme like Twenty Thirteen as displayed in the following flowchart to know which theme/ plugin is conflicting if any.

I tried troubleshooting the issue on your site http://afc.test-lca-website.com/support/web-chat/ but found you are not using this chat plugin but anything else.
Please advise.

I can see it is displaying Enabled for “Bottom corner chat” and disabled for “In post chat options” as shown in the following screenshots but it’s working fine for both. I have notified the plugin developer to change the default grayed out emoticons option appropriately.
