 * Hi
 * Is it possible to remove the dashboard for specific user roles?

 * You have to remove the `read` capability to keep them from the dashboard screen.
   Note that this cap also allows users to edit their profile IIRC.
 * At the moment, core WP doesn’t have a capability specifically for the dashboard
   screen though.

 * Justin, yes, removing read capability does remove the dashboard header, but leaves
   the user stuck on the profile page after logging in.
 * Permissions error: _You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page._
 * Maybe a redirect to the site home page is possible at this point?
 * btw, I am a newbie, so hope my comment is appropriate here.

 * That would break other plugins unless you’re talking about removing all caps
   from a role. If you simply don’t want a user to access the admin (not Dashboard),
   there’s probably existing plugins for that.

 * Yes, I am wanting to remove all capabilities from some roles. They would just
   need front end access.
 * At this point, the user is stuck on the login page with the permissions error.
   I just need to get him to the front end.
