    I disabled comments, and thanks to another post I found the text on the actual page saying “Comments are disabled”. However on the main page it says “Comments Off” next to the date. I cannot for the life of me find where to remove this text.

    Can we get the URL for the blog in question? What theme are you using? Also, have you checked inside the comments.php file, and..some of the calls for the Comments Off should be in the index.php file, or home.php file.. which ever your theme is using..?

    An example of the call codes, from in my test theme’s index.php file, looks like this:

    <?php if ( comments_open() ) {
    comments_popup_link( "Add Reply", "1 Reply", "% Replies", "Replies" ); } else { ?><img class="commoff" src="<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_directory'); ?>/images/comments-off.gif" alt=""/>Replies Off
    <?php } ?>

    An example of the calls from the comments.php file, looks like this:

    <?php if ('open' == $post->comment_status) : ?>
    <!– If comments are open, but there are no comments. –>

    <?php else : // comments are closed ?>

    That also might help… =) 😉 Thanks for sharing that Truth. 😉

    I’m probably coming in way late here, but I wanted to use the forum instead of posting a duplicate question here.

    What if I don’t necessarily want to turn off the ‘no comments’ tag, but just change the text to read something like ‘tell us what you think’ or ‘post a message’.

    I’m using the retro-book theme and I THOUGHT I could figure this out using the comments.php file, but now I don’t believe so.
