  • Hi! I’m going to use WordPress as a base for an online shop I’m working on. I want to completely remove the comments feature. How do I do this?

I’m talking about this link in the main views, and this entire part in the post view.

Oh, I just found a setting in my control panel to turn it off. Now it says “comments off” and “Comments are closed.”. I want that completely gone. I don’t know which files I need to edit. Sorry for being trouble.

These threads should be able to help. I was able to get rid of the text using the instructions here: because I only wanted the text gone on some parts of my site. However I still have some problems with that (they might be because of my theme)

Basically you can edit a core file (which isn’t recommended, but I did it and made a copy of the original in case something goes wrong… it was my last resort) or by setting the comment information to display:none in your css files.

Where abouts do you change the comment info to none?
    Is this in the styles.css?

The video in the following post shows how to remove the commenting feature from a theme.

    <div class=”postdetails”><div style=”float:left”><img src=”<?php bloginfo(‘template_directory’); ?>/images/comments.gif” /> <?php comments_popup_link(‘No comments’, ‘1 comment’, ‘% comments’); ?></div>
