• Hello I had a question regarding this.

Other people on my team have notice “?swcfpc=1” being added at the end of a url. We understand its for cache buster query parameter.

I don’t have an issue with this, but some questions are raised and we saw an option to remove it.

    https://gist.github.com/isaumya/af10e4855ac83156cc210b7148135fa2

Now the warning yellow block of text mentions.

DO NOT ENABLE this option unless you have a cloudflare Business or Enterprise account. Otherwise caching system will break on your site.

But on the plugin itself it doesn’t say that, it says.

DO NOT ENABLE this option unless you are a super advanced user comfortable with creating advanced Cloudflare rules. Otherwise caching system will break on your website.
Please note: certain Cloudflare rules can only be implemented for Cloudflare Business and Enterprise plan. So, if you have a Cloudflare Free or Pro account, you can’t use those features.

    Both warnings are slightly different.

So can i Remove Cache Buster Query Parameter with a free plan or will that break my site?

The latter ruling says Certain Clouldflare rules can only be implemented for Cloudflare Business and Enterprise Plan. So if you have a cloudflare free or pro account, you can’t use those features.

So does this ruling also imply this setting as a whole or different rules of this settings cannot be used by a free plan?

    Hi @turtlegit,
If you click on the Gist link that you have shared you will see that the warning message about CF Business/Enterprise account has been removed. now everyone can use the features. Please re-check the intrustion guide again as it has been updated and the old restrictions do not apply anymore. Please check: https://gist.github.com/isaumya/af10e4855ac83156cc210b7148135fa2

I know that the message inside the plugin dashboard does still have the restriction message regarding the Cloudflare Business/Enterprise account. That’s because I didn’t get a chance to update that. In the upcoming release of the plugin that message will be removed. Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/1zLnLR4.jpeg

Read the implementation guide thoroughly as that’s the most updated and all details are provided there. Just do note that if you are adding the 4th Cache Rule, uncheck the Ignore Query String option as it might break your website if your website has search features and other things that’s dependent on query stings. But if your website doesn’t use any special query stings or search features then only enable that option. That’s why the 4th Cache Rule is optional.

Hope that clear things up and sorry for all the confusions.

    UPDATE:
Please download this build of the plugin where I have updated the message on the settings page. This will be part of the upcoming release of the plugin.
