Remove bullets and underline from dynamic sidebar (6 posts)

    Hello world! I'm having trouble removing the bullets and underline formatting from this site: http://www.dubadesign.com.

    The theme is Carrington Text. The topics I've found seem to have solutions that include modifying the style.css, however this theme doesn't use that. I also cannot find any typical sidebar formatting in the theme files. Closest I've found is in the sidebar-default.php which has something like this:
    '<div id="primary-sidebar">
    <?php
    $post = $orig_post;
    if ( !function_exists('dynamic_sidebar') || !dynamic_sidebar('Primary Sidebar') ) {
    ?>
    <div class="widget">
    <h2 class="title"><?php _e('Search', 'carrington-text'); ?></h2>
    <?php cfct_form('search'); ?>
    </div><!--.widget-->
    <div class="widget">
    <h2 class="title"><?php _e('Pages', 'carrington-text'); ?></h2>

      <?php wp_list_pages('title_li='); ?>

    </div><!--.widget-->
    <div class="widget">'
    Any suggestions?

  2. The theme appears to be using a style sheet located at:
    ../css/carrington-text.css

    I would expect modifying that file will modify the styles being used.

    Around line 328 you will find this element:

    #sidebar .widget a, #sidebar .widget a:visited {...}

    Add this property -> text-decoration: none;

    Around line 321 you will find this element:

    #sidebar .widget ul li {...}

    Change this property -> 'list-style-type:disc;' to 'list-style-type:none;'

    Hopefully that will get you where you want to be ...

    Well how about that! Worked great. I think one of my issues, for anyone else searching, was that I was using the editor in WordPress to try to edit the css but the sheet I needed, carrington-text.css, didn't show up there. So, after downloading notepad ++ (a nice free css editor) and FileZilla, things are right as ray.

    Thanks cais for the help!!!

    I have one more question... now that the bullets are removed, there are still indents for the pages. Is there a way to left align them?

    oops, never mind.. easy as editing the margins at line 325 in css.

  6. Well Done! ... and good for you, too!

    Getting your keyboard dirty making edits like that is always enjoyable :-)
