From that link I got a page with “No Results Found”.

Is the media page a custom post type?

I guess because the post the image is attached to hasn’t posted yet the image hasn’t either? No matter, this will work for an example as well:

    http://www.bigbcomics.com/femme-fatales-atom-eve/atom_eve_statue/

And no, not a custom post type, the attachment page for an image (sorry I shouldn’t have called it a page)

In the post editor click the Disable the Social Author Bio on this page/post checkbox and then it will not display for that post.

Let me know if this works for you.

Sorry Nick, I am not explaining myself well. Lets use this post as an example:

    http://www.bigbcomics.com/femme-fatales-atom-eve/

I want the social author bio to appear there, but when I click on the image to go to the attachment page:

    http://www.bigbcomics.com/femme-fatales-atom-eve/atom_eve_statue/

I don’t want the social bio to appear there. It isn’t an actual page, just the attachment. There is no Disable the social Author Bio on the edit page

I see what you’re saying now. I always thought that an attachment page was a custom post type of attachment which would keep this from happening.

I’ll take a deeper look when I get home this evening. What theme are you using?

    Thread Starter Cartwright

    (@morriganchilds)

I am using eStore by Elegant Themes

Again it was my fault, I am really bad at explaining myself and using the correct terminology. I appreciate your assistance Nick

I downloaded it and will install it on my dev system tonight.

Ok, so I have eStore installed on my dev site.

How do I configure the image to open into a new page like that? I’ve added an image to a post but it doesn’t do that.

    Thread Starter Cartwright

    (@morriganchilds)

That post I forced it to go to that page to use as an example.

The only time it naturally happens (which is why I haven’t run into the problem before) is when you add a gallery to a post and in the gallery settings have it to go the “Attachment Page” instead of the “Media File”

We had to feature 3 galleries this week with the images going to the attachment pages so our customers could see descriptions. But when I started this thread the post wasn’t up yet so I couldn’t link to it.

How are you displaying the social author bio box? Automatically (by selecting post in the general settings), via shortcode, or by placing the filter command inside a template file?

    Thread Starter Cartwright

    (@morriganchilds)

Sorry Nick, we had a convention this weekend so everything else gets put on hold.

    I’m displaying it automatically

Hmmm I’m not able to duplicate it, using the exact theme and all.

    Look at this post:

    http://dev.nickpowers.info/from-office2/

you can see the Social Author Box at the bottom. But if you click any of the images in the gallery, under product information it does not. Although I get a generic looking, blank bio box, that is not coming from my plugin. This is what I would expect since the attachment page is actually a custom post type (attachment).

How do you feel about setting me up an admin account on your site so I can take a look there?

If you are OK with that then send me the login/pw via email: nick AT nickpowers.info

I won’t be able to actually look into it until after work this evening.

Marking this as resolved, but leaving follow-up notifications on.
