# Remove author and date from posts

 * Contact the theme developer for help in locating which theme template file you
   would need to edit to remove the code that generates that data. Also consider
   doing this in a child theme so that your changes don’t get overwritten in a theme
   update.

 * Ok, thanks. I have tried and am waiting (impatiently) for an answer but it’s 
   been many days now. Will keep trying.

 * Yeah we can’t support themes that were not downloaded from wordpress.org/themes–
   kind of hard to debug WordPress code we don’t all have access to!
 * If you’re okay with PHP coding, I’d suggest installing the helpful [information plugin](http://wordpress.org/plugins/helpful-information/)
   which can tell you which theme file is generating the particular page. You can
   then use that information to create a child theme and create your own template
   file that overrides the parent theme’s template file to get rid of that information.
