Remove AMP from Google search results

    The AMP for WP plugin is outstanding, but I no longer want to have/use AMP pages. Here’s what I’ve done: Deleted the plugin, added this redirect /(.*)\/amp to https://www.yourdomain.com/$1 and submitted fresh sitemap. Here’s the problem: When I do a search on my mobile phone the Google results take me to the AMP version of my home page. When I click on a link on this page it does forward (redirect) to the correct non-amp page, which is good. But the amp homepage problem remains. How do I remove the (outdated) homepage/amp version from Google’s search results? Or get it to redirect from Google’s search results to the non-amp homepage? TX, Brad

    Also, if I click on any of the links/pages below the homepage in Google search results using my mobile phone, they too go to the AMP version. Clarification: Once on the amp page, the links either go to a non-amp page or sometimes to a 404 Not Found Error page. To reaffirm: How do I remove both the homepage/amp version and all other listed pages from Google search results? Or get them to redirect to non-amp pages.

    This issue happens because till now AMP exists within google cache. AMP will be automatically removed from your site.

    @ahmedkaludi Thank you for your reply. Questions: (1) Will AMP automatically be removed by Google processes or another source? (2) How long does it take?

    (1) Yes, AMP will be removed automatically by google cache.

    (2) It may takes few days or a week in some cases.
