# Remove a Widget

 * I’m having a trouble getting rid of a widget that i don’t want to show up.
 * I don’t know what’s the name but if you see my website [ the bit I want to go away is this ](http://www.saleolio.com)

 * and removing it through the dashboard doesn’t work…

 * That looks like a Text widget with an image in it, and a Search widget.

 * Hi Tameto,
 * Navigate to Appearance -> Widgets. In the [Widget panel](http://codex.wordpress.org/File:widget-panel.png)
   drag the two Widgets from the [Widget Area](http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Widgets#Widget_Areas)
   to the ‘Inactive Widgets’ area to remove them, but keep their settings (in case
   you need them again).

 * It looks like you are using [Twenty Twelve](https://wordpress.org/themes/twentytwelve/).
   If you don’t want to use the widget area at all you could change the [Page Template](https://codex.wordpress.org/Page_Templates)
   for each Page to ‘Full-width Page Template, No Sidebar’.

 * Just canceled in the page.php file the bit sayng “get_sidebar…”
