How serious is the reason that search exclude plugin has been removed from wordpress.org.
I understand it’s removal is temporary. It would be good to know the reason why it has been removed and when it will be restored. thanks.

  • I have looked through “all” the source files (there aren’t really that much to be honest) but I can’t find anything that could cause this problem.

Im quite curious what will happen in the next patch but Im really happy with what this plugin offers.

    Follow.

Thanks for checking this, Kevin. The plugin page says the following:
This plugin has been closed as of August 30, 2019 and is not available for download. This closure is temporary, pending a full review.
I’m not sure what the full review process means. HMA

Any explaination from the plugin author would be appreciated.

Does Search Exclude contain malware? Is Search Exclude safe?

    Hi all,

There is a security issue found in the plugin. Minor one, but needs to be fixed. I’m working on the patch right now to fix it, and will disclose the details as soon as the fix is available.

    Appreciate your patience!

Thanks for the clarification. Looking forward to the patched version.

    Quick update:
I have submitted a patch with fix for review by the WordPress Plugin Review Team. Waiting for the reply.

Appreciate keeping us in the loop.

    Same here.

    Thanks for your work!
I assume it’s safe to keep live until the fix update arrives?

There is a ‘Subscribe’ link in the right column for that…

Looks like Search Exclude is now available again in the plugins directory.

Thanks for the quick fix @pronskiy

Mmm update available in the repository but by WP install doesn’t see it, even though the update is already available for 18 hours.

Please, wait a bit, the patch passed review, I’m going to tag it as stable today.
