# Remote-Image-Cache

 * Recently I discovered that the Remote-Image-Cache in my wp-content/temp folder
   was at about 60GB even though I have disabled “Enable Feed Cache”
 * Why would the cache grow so large when the Feed Cache is disabled?
 * Can we keep this folder at a set size?
 * Is there a way to delete this cache on a schedule?
 * Thanks for your assistance…

   the free version of the plugin, we do not import any images from the RSS feeds,
   is it possible that you are using one [Feed to Post addon](https://www.wprssaggregator.com/extension/feed-to-post/?utm_source=website&utm_medium=website_addons&utm_campaign=website_addons_f2p)
   to import the feed items?

 * Thank you for the reply. I was/am using an expired premium version and only the
   following plugins are installed:
 * The Aggregator
 * Categories
 * Key Word Filtering
 * Templates
 * I don’t see anyway to control the cache other then dropping in a delete script
   and running it with a Cron job.

   the cron job approach should also work just fine. Unfortunately, we are not able

 * So to sum up, buy a subscription, hosted account fills up with cached images 
   from the feed (more than 60GB when discovered) with no way to control the size
   and must be manually deleted or the end user has to write their own scripts to
   delete them.

 * [@markwordpress1](https://wordpress.org/support/users/markwordpress1/) I checked
   with the engineering team on this and the remote-image cache is unrelated to 
   the feed cache. The plugin uses the cache folder to temporarily store images 
   before the WordPress media library. The `tmp` folder here is placed in the `/
   tmp` or `AppData\Local\Temp` in Windows. The custom folder mentioned might explain
   why the folder keeps growing and I’d recommend checking with the host for the
   same.
