Support » Plugin: Relevanssi - A Better Search » Relevanssi and Mantra Theme ??

  • Theme Mantra’s search function and Relevanssi do not work together. Mantra has two files: Search.php and searchform.php

    The file searchform.php contains the information:
    / * Run the run for the search to output the results.
      * If you want to overload this in a child theme then include a file
      * called loop-search.php and that will be used instead.
    * /

    Is it possible with Relevanssi? and how do I do?

    I just installed Mantra on my test site, and it works without issues with Relevanssi. There’s nothing in it that doesn’t work with Relevanssi, the search template in Mantra is a basic loop that works fine with Relevanssi.

    Looking at your site, the Relevanssi search results seem to work, but your template is broken. Looks like your search results template is missing get_header(), because the page header is missing.

    Do you have a child theme installed? If so, make sure the first thing in the search.php template file is get_header();, like it is in the Mantra default search.php template.

    The first ten lines look like this:

    <?php
    /**
    * The template for displaying Search results pages.
    *
    * @package Cryout Creations
    * @subpackage Mantra
    * @since Mantra 1.0
    */

    get_header(); ?>

    Yes I have child theme. Should I copy search.php and put it in child theme?

    has put in the file, search.php in child theme. no improvements.

    Some words, Relevanssi can not find others. Some words get the layout to erase, “Global” does not go without the layout getting weird. “State” goes but gives no result, same with “Abstract”.
    Indexing does not work.
    Mantra’s search works better.
    I have reinstalled and disabled plugins.
    I have reinstalled Relevanssi.
    Now I’ve deactivated it.
    Is there anything I can do to make it work?

    What do you mean “indexing does not work”? If you don’t have a complete index, then it’s no wonder some words won’t find any results.

    The weird layout is caused by the missing header. Don’t know what’s causing that – it’s not the combination of Relevanssi and Mantra, that works, but it may be something in your child theme, or some other plugin you use.
