 * Are there any descriptions of features added and bug fixes for each release?
 * I am always reluctant to apply updates without knowing what has changed.

   whole release notes section below ‘1.7’, up to ‘1.6’, you will find what was 
   fixed or added in the minor releases. The minor release number (1.7.1, 1.7.2,
   etc.) is added to each fix in brackets.
