Support » Fixing WordPress » Relative links with Markdown not working in archives?

  • I have only used markdown a handful of times and like how it works.

If I follow the permalink on a post the relative links no longer work. I have recently turned on fancy archives and I’m sure that is the problem. It is looking for the relative link at /2005/2/etc… Is there a way for relative links to work or is it just neccesary to use absolute links?

    thanks
    T

  • A relative link (whatever the formatting syntax) is relative to the current page. If your text is published on more than one page, you cannot really use a relative link.

But, you could write your links relative to the server root. To do that, your link need to begin by /. For example, if your website is located at example.com, a link to /support/ — whatever the page — will lead to http://example.com/support/. This apply as long the page the link is on is located on the example.com domain.
