Could you post your site URL here, so I can have a look?

    Hi Jeremy,

The problem seemed intermittent yesterday after I posted, and today it’s down to only two posts out of 49 that don’t have the links for related articles.

    http://mountainpeeksmag.com/cafe-alona-international-cuisine-in-your-backyard/
    http://mountainpeeksmag.com/southwest-virginia-scenes/

Can you please give me an idea of what drives those links? It doesn’t seem to be Tags, since those two posts have Tags in common with several others that are working. They also have Categories assigned.

    Thank you!

One of those posts displays Related Posts on my end, while the other doesn’t.

Could you try to install and activate this small plugin, by going to Plugins > Add New > Upload in your dashboard:
    http://i.wpne.ws/Vdoc

Once you’ve activated the plugin, try to relaunch the indexation (you’ll find the reindex button by clicking on the “Debug” link at the bottom of the Jetpack menu in your dashboard).
If the Related Posts start appearing, you can deactivate and delete this small plugin.

Let me know if it helps.

    Hi Jeremy,

After installing the plugin, activating it, and reindexing, the one post still does not have Related Posts. So strange!

The other photography post has no text at all, but it has the Related Posts. The other difference was the one remaining post was a Gallery post while the rest are Standard. I changed that just now and reindexed, still no Related Posts.

It’s not a huge deal, just mystifying. Any other ideas?

    Thank you!

    That’s weird indeed!

    Could you try the following:

    1) Go the Jetpack menu in your dashboard
    2) Click on “My Jetpack” at the top of the page.
    3) Click on “Disconnect Site from WordPress.com” if your site is currently connected to WordPress.com.
    4) Confirm the disconnection.
    5) Click on the Connect button to connect your site to WordPress.com again.

Then reindex again, and let me know how that goes!

    Hi Jeremy,

All of that done, and the same post is the only one on the whole site that still doesn’t have the Related Posts. Even more strange? I built the site on a student project on a different host and server. I just went back to check how that one looks. Even without the graphics fully loaded, the SAME post is the only one with that feature missing.

I also created a new post just now on the public site, and it has the same problem. http://mountainpeeksmag.com/southwest-virginia-scenes-new/
    What on earth???

While we’re at it, is there a way to exclude posts from that feature? On purpose, I mean? 😉 I have a couple of terribly boring reference posts that show up on other posts. If not, no problem.

    Thank you!

Can you think of anything specific about that post, about the way you created it?

is there a way to exclude posts from that feature?

    This should help:

    Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for the link, tons of great information there! Who know one tiny post would let me learn so much?

As far as the original post, I created it the same was I did all the others, by pasting the text from the old HTML site into the body. For the one I made yesterday that still does not function properly, I used the New Post button, then added the graphics.

I made another just now to see if any new ones would work, and yes, it DOES have Related Posts at the bottom. I made it the same way as the others.

The only difference is I started that post with a paragraph of text at the top, then saved it. I recreated everything one piece at a time, down to the post date and time, updating after each change to see if any element of the post broke the Related Posts. Now I’ve marked the two broken posts as Draft, and I have today’s new post on the site. And it is still working on two browsers and my phone. http://mountainpeeksmag.com/southwest-virginia-scenes/

Even looking at the code, I can’t see any difference at all. You’re welcome to take a look if you want to. I guess as long as I know to keep an eye out for that, I’m fine. Still confused, but fine. 🙂

Do you think you could copy the post’s code as it appears in the HTML editor in your dashboard, and post it here via a tool like Pastebin?
    http://pastebin.com/

    Thanks!
