Related posts by tags – real tags only

    Thank you for a great plugin.

    Wonder what would need to make the plugin to pull only real tags. I have a site with many previous posts which had tags all removed. All previous posts are related because they all have a blank (null) tag. Related posts become irrelevant. Hope to be able to specify tags must be real words.

    I don’t think I understand. Are you saying that you a tag for all these posts and they get included because they all fall into the same “tag”?

    This plugin works alongside the main plugin and the tag relevance is an additional level that limits the related posts to those belonging to the same tag/category.

    Is there any way to exclude posts without tag? Now all posts without tags are related because the plugin sees them “all having no tags” thus are related.

    I think I understand and I believe it is a by product of the checks for tags and so if doesn’t find any the query doesn’t go through. I need to do some checks as I don’t have an install like this.

    I’m not sure how to get this implemented with code right now and it doesn’t exist within the plugin as the plugin looks for common tags.

    One option is that you put all of these untagged ones into a tag like ‘archive’ or similar and then add this to the exclude categories setting so that no posts from this appear.
