  • Hi,

The page/2/ and page/3/ etc. appearing in Google is expected behavior. Google will eventually nofollow the links on those pages if they stop appearing in Google. This is bad for SEO, as your articles no longer get the internal links they need. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/pagination-seo-best-practices/.

Please also know that you may see warnings about duplicate meta descriptions in your Google Search Console. As explained in the link, that is expected and is OK and is not expected to hurt the SEO of your site.

However, if you still want to change the canonical you may using the filter at the bottom of this page: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/canonical-urls-in-wordpress-seo/.

Unfortunately, there’s a difference between the support we can offer and the level of programming needed to change (core) features of our plugin. Since we don’t want to take the risk that we break your website by suggesting incorrect or incomplete code, we cannot advise you on how to make such changes. And even though we cannot be of any assistance, you’re completely free to change anything in the plugin to better suit your needs.

We highly recommend checking out the Yoast supported partners here: https://yoast.com/yoast-partners/.
