Reinstalled Parent Theme, Child Theme not recognised

    I accidentally deleted my theme when tidying out old themes. Upon reinstalling it seems as though an amendment I’ve made in the Child theme isn’t working.

    I wanted to change the width of the website so added a style.css to the child.

    /* One column */
.one-column #page {
	max-width: 1144px;

    The website has gone back to it’s original width.

    As a complete novice it took me a long time to work that out. :-/

    Any help would be hugely appreciated.

    Very embarrassed and just worked out that I need to reactive the child theme. Perhaps this post will help someone else sometime.
