# reinstall blog without database

 * I didn’t backup the database for my website when moving the blog to a new server.
   Is there anyway to get it back up an running without needing to re-create the
   whole thing?

 * The database is where all of your content and settings are stored. If you don’t
   have a backup of the database or can’t retrieve it from the old server, you will
   need to start over.
