Support » Plugin: Advanced Woo Search » Reindexing needed after importing products

  • For this website I purchased your plugin to be able to search SKUs. Every time when I bulk import products to my woocommerce shop, the products won’t show up in the search results. When I empty the cache, still no results are showing up. After each import I now have to click on “Reindex table” to be able to find the imported products in advanced-woo-search.

This seems like a bug and needs to be fixed.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

Please tell me how you import products to your shop? What plugin you use for this?

    Regards

We are using the standard Woocommerce Product CSV importer functionality for that: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/product-csv-importer-exporter/

Strange, I just check this import tool and for me all works fine.
Please tell me how many products you try yo import at one time?
Also go to plugin settings page and make sure that ‘Sync index table’ option is turned on.

    Regards

The strange thing is, new products can be found by searching on their name, but not by searching on their SKU.
You can test this here: https://woodendstage.wpengine.com/afrekenen-2/

When you search on product name (“griep”), you will find five newly imported products, and you’ll also be able to view their SKUs. If you try to find one of those products on SKU (for instance “x1946”), then you won’t be able to find the product.

So it looks like the search table isn’t updated with the new SKUs

Please tell me do you enable searching by SKU from plugin settings page?

Of course I did! On the form, I set SKU to yes below Search Source.

Just to let you know: searching SKUs always works, but not after importing.
If I make a change to an imported product, however, then I can find the product by SKU.

This is what I did with one of the imported products: for the product with SKU x1945, I added a description and saved the product. After saving, the product shows up in the search results.

So there’s a strange bug where imported products are being found when you search them, but not if you search them by SKU. Can you reproduce my problem?

Sorry, but I can’t reproduce this problem.
I import new product with SKU and after this search plugin search and find product well by this SKU.

So I think the problem also can be during importing process: when importing the products you have the list of field that must imported. Please check than SKU is presented there.

Also before importing please try to go to plugin settings page and disable ‘Cache results’ option. Maybe its can help.

    Regards
