I have this WP-Members form on my page and it’s working fine but it seems after someone registers it sends them to a “dead” page (and dead being in quotes because it’s the layout of our page but it just says “Sorry, Nothing was Found”). How can I fix that. It seems to be signing the person up ok.

Also is there a way to update what is in a drop-down field without having to delete the field and redo it?

    Thanks for any help provided.

Sounds like you might have something interfering with the process – perhaps another plugin. The registration always posts back to the original page (i.e. registering on a post posts back to that post, registering on the register page posts back to the register page). But if something else happens in the headers (as could be the case with some plugins), that could throw something out of whack.

You could try to track that down by deactivating other plugins and re-testing. But you could also use the register redirect action hook to redirect upon successful registration. That hook is documented here.

For the dropdown field – yes, that can be edited, but only in recent versions. I would suggest using the 2.8.2 beta release (which at this point is in final testing) as that has a cleaned up process for the field manager (and editor).

Thank you for the reply, I will see if I can get the site updated to the new version.

There are a dozen or so plugins but none are newly installed, so I’m not sure if they are interfering or not. I’ve been thrown this task and I’m not too familiar with the WordPress program (I’ve worked on sites using Joomla), where would I put the redirect hook if I wanted to use it? Is there a place in the admin that I can access the code for this plugin?

    Thanks again for your response!

Any filter or action functions would go into your functions.php (found in your theme or child theme).

I just helped a friend debug this issue of getting a 404 upon registration. We deactivated all plugins and reverted to the Twenty Twelve theme, and the error persisted. The solution we found was to remove a field from our registration form called “Organization name.” My friend thinks this might have been a custom field he added. We put the field back in and now everything is working alright. We’re not sure what happened.
