Registration from sidebar

Hello,

I have read thoroughly through the forums, as well as the plug-in directory to try and find a widget that would allow me to complete registration from the sidebar instead of having to click a link to go to the registration page.

I tried to iframe the code for registration but that just puts me in a loop of live pages in the iframe that duplicate what is happening on the site.

What would be nice is to have a widget that would allow someone to register right from the sidebar and then when the registration button is clicked they would be given a thank you message and told to check their email for login details.

I saw a ton of these for login and user activities in the sidebar but I did not see anything for registration which shocks me. This would seem to be an easy mod for anyone who is interested in putting the mailer widgets on their wordpress and using that as a newsletter signup function using the subscriber action function for any new users who sign up.

I have seen a number of newsletter widgets out there but NONE of them access the user database for the wordpress installation which I want to do. I am NOT a coder and would appreciate some direction on whether or not this has been done already or if someone is willing to do this.
