• I’m using WordPress 2.5.1 (2.7 did not work on my host). My users are not getting a registration email with the password.

I have tried the SMPT mail plugin, but it does not work with my version of WordPress.

Is there a standard(?) solution to this problem? Thanks

    John

  • I am having the same problem, but with 2.7.1.

In fact, I have received zero emails on new user registrations – neither one to the admin email address, nor the one to the registering user.

I can see in the admin panel that the user is added.

Solved my problem by switching to SMTP. Wish this was in the documentation somewhere. If you’re using a host ISP, not all support the out of the box method in WordPress…

    Hi there kewe

    See: “http://wordpress.org/support/topic/243379”

I just recently posted a very similar problem. What exactly (in the Admin???) did you do to install “switching to SMTP” if you don’t mind telling me?

The issue I posted is resolved. I did not have to turn any SMTP business on. I simply needed to fix SABRE and now my regist and password recovery emails are working.

    Hi,
I am new to this… can someone tell me what SABRE is all about… thank you

Sabre is a plugin designed to stop Spambots registering on your blog
