Hi – users are reporting getting the ‘registration access blocked’ message when they try and request a password reset and sometimes when they are registering. https://snipboard.io/t1iwG5.jpg
This has only started happening in the last few days and we haven’t made any changes to anything as far as I’m aware.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I could be wrong, but that doesn’t appear to be Stop Spammers that’s blocking.

Can you check the following please:

    1. Do you have any other security/anti-spam plugins installed?

    2. In your main WP admin settings, is Settings > General > Membership > Anyone can register checked?

    3. Under Stop Spammers > Challenge & Block > Access Blocked Message is the exact message “Registration Access Blocked”?

Hi Bryan – thank you for the quick response! I’ll double check re the first your point, but it’s a yes to your second question and a no to your third one. What made me think it was like to be Stop Spammers was because when I searched for “Registration Access Blocked” I got this https://snipboard.io/3dyUHk.jpg from this page https://github.com/Trumani/stop-spammers/blob/master/stop-spammer-registrations-new.php

Hmm, I’m not totally sure why we’re handling this error this way, but what you’ll want to do is go to:

Stop Spammers > Protection Options > Validate Requests

and toggle off the “Check for Periods” option.

Hi Bryan – this would make sense as the users reporting this issue had more than one period after the @ symbol, however I already had this toggled off as multiple periods is very common within our sector.

Hmm, I’m going to have to check with the team on this…

    Fixed.

We need to fix a few other things before pushing the update, but should be within the next few days.
