    For some time now, newly registered users have been unable to log in. They receive the message “Account pending: Your account is currently inactive. An administrator must activate your account before you can log in.” I’m the administrator, but I don’t see how to activate accounts. The database shows that the users are registered.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    I updated your plug-in (2.4.9) today. And now nothing works anymore. Please see http://www.beveiligingsforum.nl and try a menu item. What could be wrong?

    Hi @vincentvreeken

    I assume you have a widget for wpForo Online Users. Please take a screenshot of that widget from dashboard. What kind of widgets you use, is it a classic or block widget? Could you please remove and re create that widget then delete all caches?

    Thanks for your reply. My website does not use widgets at all. It is based on a template of wpForo.

    Ok, then this issue is not related to the 2.4.9 version. It seems you’ve enabled manual user approvment feature of wpForo and new registered users must be approved before being able to login.

    Please check the “Enable User Manually Approval” option in Dashboard > wpForo > Settings > Login & Registration admin page.

    You can find all users and approve them in the Dashboard > wpForo > Members admin page, all unapproved users are listed in the [inactive] tab.

    Thanks again. You were right. ‘Enable User Manually Approval’ was set on ‘yes’. I changed it to ‘no’. But still a member cannot login. The status of the member is ‘active’. But when he tries to log in, a red box appears, that says: ‘Account is in progress. Your account is not active now. An administrator must activate your account before you can login.’

    Hi @vincentvreeken,

    It means they have not verified their email by clicking the verification link.

    Hi, they have verified the e-mail. Please check it your self. The website is https://beveiligingsforum.nl. Try to register and log in after verification. You will see that the administrator has to verify the account first, but I am the administrator and I can’t find out how I must verify new users. Sorry that the website is in Dutch, but Google can translate it. Thanks a lot for your support in advance!

    Hi @vincentvreeken ,

    Have you approved the users which were registered when the option was enabled? You should go to Dashboard > wpForo > Members admin page and approve the users to let them login.

    BTW, people cannot login because you have some security solution/plugin that always return this error. We couldn’t login as well:

    FOUT: de toegang vanaf je IP-adres is om veiligheidsredenen geblokkeerd. Neem contact op met beheerder.

    Thank you for your patience. Unfortunately, the solution isn’t that simple. As you can see in the screenshot, your account is ‘active’. And of course, I can’t activate an active account. Yet, WPforo keeps telling you when you want to log in that the account still needs to be activated bij the administrator. This happens with all new members, what makes the forum unusable. The security plugin only temporarily prevents someone from logging in after three failed attempts. I wonder if other WPforo users are experiencing this issue.

    @vincentvreeken ,

    I was referring to the old user, not my account. I know my account is active because you’ve disabled that option. Please check the other users. If all of them are active, then the issue is the error I shared. It’s not a temporary problem users cannot log in because of your security plugin, not because of wpForo.
