Register Plus Redux causing issues

    Hello

    i made a site for a client using wordpress as i thought that would be the easiest for them to deal with on their own (for adding new content). turns out they can’t follow simple instructions to update everything when it says to in the admin panel!!

    i set up the site about a year ago (www.countyoftheeast.co.uk) and they only wanted members to be able to sign up (not have any random person sign up).
    so i installed the Register Plus Redux plugin and was able to set up the signup/login page with a custom logo and a code that only members would know.

    so i left them to it, heard nothing from them and assumed everything was working fine.

    a couple of weeks ago a friend came to me about setting up a website, so i showed her my own site and also tried to show her this site i’d made, to show the difference and how easy wordpress could be. that is when i found the site was not working.

    going to the site came back with a server error (500) and a message saying the site was down. because of this, i could not get logged in to the admin panel (no page would work on the site, always the server error). so i contacted the host and spoke to their support on live chat. he checked the site and came back and told me there was an error with Register Plus Redux and that it needed updated.

    great, but how could i login?! so i found on here a way to get round it. i’d thought myself i could just delete it via ftp, but WP support said to rename the folder. so i did that instead. checked the site, it’s back, great.

    however, there are still issues with Register Plus Redux. i can’t activate it, says there is a fatal error. message below –
    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
    Warning: require_once(/home/countyof/public_html/wp-content/plugins/register-plus-redux/rpr-login.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/countyof/public_html/wp-content/plugins/register-plus-redux/register-plus-redux.php on line 675 – i have renamed the folder via ftp back to what it was. did this screw with it?

    i also can’t delete it, as when i do that, it takes me to a server error page!!

    can anyone help me fix it, or get rid of it? i have searched for it via the add new plugins page and it’s not showing, so does that mean it’s been removed altogether?

    Even if this message is from 4 months ago I’m just checking to see if you fixed your problem. I think this plugin is so useful and it should be kept alive is possible.

    i loved the plugin, it’s a shame it stopped working.

    i found another plugin that would do the same thing but it did not work.

    so now the site is open for anyone to join. up to the client to moderate now, they’re happy with that.

    What was the name of the other plugin? This plugin is actually perfect for most situations. It would be so nice if it could get a few security updates though.
