I have setup WordPress 2.2.1. Following the instructions I have explored the default setup familiarizing myself with how things work. I turned on Akismet, changed the Permalink Structure to Date and name based. I am using the widgets for the sidebar. I have installed k2 and True Blue 1.4.1 by Steve Lam. Everything seems to work as designed.
However, new users seem to be unfamiliar with “case sensitive”? Most of our new users are unable to log in when they get their password e-mail and some actually call us or e-mail us, but most, just don’t post. If no one post. . . the blog’s success is not going to be as good as it could.
Two things would really help me:
1. I would like to have the e-mail to administrator include the new users password as well as the username and e-mail address ( make it a lot quicker to check when they have problems.)
2. I would like to add a sentence to the new users email reminding them that the username and password is “case sensitive”
I can follow instructions and do know to backup the original files before I make any changes. I have read some post that are similar to mine. However, I am not wanting to stop sending mail I just wanting to tweak the existing notification to the New User and Blog Administrator.
Also, any constructive comment on how I can improve my wifes blog will be appreciated. http://foodblog.jkvetter.com
