    Hello @tomatito

    1. How can I ban an user? And is it possible after register to not allow an user? So they first need permission or approval to start a topic.

You can bann every non-admin user when you visit their profile in the backend. In the lower area of that page you find a checkbox for this.

For the permission-stuff: I think there are other login/registration plugins out there which allows you to approve newly registered users first.

    2. What register and login does Asgaros use?

Yes, this plugin uses the WordPress user management. But it doesnt mean, that they have any admin rights when they create an account, so you will have no risk to your site. They can only use the admin interface do manage their own account/profile.

    Regards,
    Thomas

Hi, thanks for your swift reply.

    I have an additional question…

Will using this login give hackers an extra opportunity or ´backdoor´ to my website?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

    Hello @tomatito

The answer to this question is not easy. Basically when you keep your WordPress up to date, you should not have any troubles with this because the WordPress team takes care of security issues. If I would implement an user management system by my own, then we have some redundancy because we have basically two systems which are doing the same. This means that those two systems need regularly checks and fixes for security issues.

So basically I would say: Less redundancy and less functionality/code and the use of an existing functionality which is already maintained by a large community is a safer way.
