I have changed the settings multiple times for folders to scan, even to scan the entire wp-content folder, then ran “Optimize Everything Else” within bulk optimizer. It scanned every sub-folder EXCEPT my images folder, which is the one folder I installed this plug-in to optimize. Assistance would be greatly appreciated…

Actually I’m noticing it is ignoring the entire theme folder I’m using. It scans all the other theme folders within wp-content/themes, but not the active one.

The plugin automatically scans the active theme folder, and any parent theme folder for images to optimize when you run Scan & Optimize. There is no need to specify that folder manually. Have you checked the ewwwio table via ‘Show Optimized Images’ to verify that it skipped those folders?

Yes. It absolutely skipped the active theme’s folder and its subfolders. When you see the list of images it optimized not one image in that folder is included, yet those are the largest images on the site and the ones resulting in a bad homepage load speed. I ran it first without specifying anything there and it showed nothing scanned at all.

At this point it is academic though, because I just went ahead and optimized that folder’s images one by one using a manual tool, then re-uploaded them. And all new images to the site will go into the media folder. Hopefully you can resolve for someone else’s benefit though. Might it be that the theme is named a unique word, instead of following the “twelve” “thirteen” convention of standard wp themes? I can’t see anything different about those folders. The permissions are exactly the same when I look at them with FTP software.

Go ahead and remove the pastebins. There might be a way we can get a bit more info, I’ll let you know once I have a chance to look into it.

What is the name of the folder for your theme?

It is called images, but I already optimized each image individually anyway, then reuploaded. But thanks for trying to help on this.

Sorry, I meant the actual root folder for the theme itself, not the folder where it stores images. I know you already did them manually, but I’m curious to see if we can track down why it wasn’t working for you, in case someone else might trigger the bug.
