    Hi there,

Been trying for weeks to figure this out, but officially need some input.

Whenever I view the site that I use this plugin on, the feed is always terribly outdated. It’s not until/unless I login to WP as an admin that I see the current/recent FB feed posts. But as far as the general public is concerned, the section is always out of date by up to several days.

I disabled ALL cache plugins on the site to help, but it has made no difference. I have double & triple checked the IK settings, and the “events only” section is also not checked.

So, what am I missing here? I can’t seem to find a setting anywhere that dictates how often the feed is fetched, or if there’s just a setting in general that I’m completely missing.

Thanks much for any help you can provide. Cheers!

    Hey there!

The feed is loaded when the page is loaded and stored with the WordPress transient API for a duration of 15 minutes.

If you refresh the page within that 15 minute time period, another API request is not issued. Outside of that 15 minute window and the feed will refresh again.

The time is 15 minutes so that you don’t worry about rate limits with Facebook, but does prevent “real time” feed loading, at this time. We could expose that as an at-your-own-risk option, in a future update.

The behavior you describe sounds like a caching issue outside of our plugin. I know you say you’ve disabled everything, but this behavior is something I would see with any sort of static file cache – such as Wp Super Cache and other plugins use. Or, something like Cloudflare on the outside could be caching the pages. Most caching plugins also have an option that loads un-cached pages for logged in users, which matches your description.

Are you absolutely positive that every caching plugin, function, etc, that you have on your site are disabled fully?

    Best,
    Richard

    Thanks for the quick reply!

Yes, I am positive. Not only did I disable WP Super Cache, but last week I even removed it entirely. And literally the ONLY active plugin I’m using is IK.

I also just went and double checked my hosting settings, and Cloudflare is not being used. But I do have Page Speed Optimization in place. Beyond that, though, nothing else.

Is there somewhere else I should be looking, a shortcode I need to add, or a check-box I’m somehow missing?

    Hey there!

So, we’ve recently patched a bug in which Facebook Stories, such as “User X has Liked a Post.”, were taking up empty space in the feed. This would give the impression of the most recent post not loading or having just a few posts load when the Limit was set higher.

We are going to go ahead and mark this topic resolved – if you are continuing to have issues please let us know!

    Best,
    Richard
