• Hi @lordvader,

I believe we added this feature in already. Which version are you on? We may have limited it to only new slideshows though so as to not break any existing settings users have.

Sorry for my dumb question.

This is awesome! Now I see it. I have the latest version, but was testing with and old slideshow.

Is the option “Description” also being added?

Sorry again and I pay more close attention to your great development of this very good plugin.

Hi Lv,

It’s just adding the Title, Alt and Caption automatically. Just curious, what would you expect the description to do or where should it be added on the image?

Hello kbatdorf,

I think the description could be used in case of a user who would not like to use the caption on a certain photo or not at all.

I’m not a programmer, but if I add a picture from the WP media library straight
into a page it would show up like this:

Caption

Also there are SEO plugins that use the description. So for maximum compatibility
it would be very nice. This way users don’t have to rethink about the option
that Metaslider doesn’t have.
This information is hidden for the person who is viewing the picture, but google etc. could use it.

Regards,

Hi @lordvader,

We support the caption field in the WP Media Library though. Doesn’t that solve the issue?

(I’ll mark this as a resolved issue, but please feel free to comment further)

I don’t want to say you’re wrong, but you’re wrong. 😉

However I didn’t explain it right. The Caption code I mentioned
should be the Description field within the WP Media Library.

Hope this solves the problem in the end.

Hi @lordvader,

You think it would make more sense to use the description field as the caption instead of the caption field? I don’t understand what you’re suggesting, maybe to give the user the option to choose caption of description? You can manually edit the caption field in the case where you need it to be custom, but adding an extra option I don’t think makes sense at all.
