Ref-Karma with Dreamhost

    sigh, I moved my sites over to dreamhost today and realized that ref-karma needs allow_url_fopen to work, am I out of luck now?

    sure hope not, has anyone on DH got it to work?

    Yeah, you’re out of luck for ref-karma. I ran into the same thing, but switched hosting providers shortly after (not for that reason).

    I highly recommend trying BadBehavior instead: http://www.ioerror.us/software/bad-behavior/

    It will block 99% of all the bad bots out there, including referrer spam bots. So far, it has worked wonders for me.
